Quilting with Seasons!
Seasons at Home Magazine has created this membership site hoping to fill it with wonderful things to complement our magazine and home site, Joyous Home. MEMBERS CAN LOGIN ON THE LEFT SIDEBAR!
*We are working on a new site that will be easier to navigate and offer quilting supplies and other fun things for you! We appreciate your patience, it will be up soon!
Quilting with Seasons is our first membership and we hope it will be a great success. We have some lovely ideas for a finished quilt that will take you through the Seasons! We are making this quilt along with you, showing you step by step how to construct each block.
We will make a 12" block each month until July 2009. The last block will include your backing and binding instructions. The finished size quilt will be 42 1/2" x 56 1/4".
Here are the August/September blocks! Our blocks have pdf instructions with full color photograhy, and video file links* available for download on your page once you sign up for the membership.
Beginners in quilting are welcome to join our group! We have a private forum that you are immediately able to sign into once the membership is purchased. In the quilt block forum you can ask questions and get some help putting together your block and fellowship with the other quilt block members.
If you know our magazine, I'm sure you know how visual Jessica and I are. Personally, I need more visual help with my projects than print help, so I try to make everything beginner proof! Our first block includes our extra video help!
Basic needs:
You should have a sewing machine, rotary cutter and mat, a ruler such as 'Quilter's rule' or Quilt Sense (24" x 6") and be ready to buy fabric, cotton and embroidery thread, embellishments and fusible interfacing for each block.
It helps when quilting time comes, to have a walking foot on your machine if available, but it can still be quilted without one or you can also hand quilt your piece, giving it a more traditional look.
What your membership includes:
-
Monthly PDF Instructions for blocks/embellishments, and the final month to include all finishing for a 42" x 56" quilt; (approx. size) with color photography- A Season's must!
-
Templates to copy if needed
-
All instructions in print friendly format (no pics), below the color instructions for you to take to the sewing machine.
-
Private Forum Access
*Extra Help when available:
-
Video Files, downloadable right from your purchase page
-
Talking pdfs when applicable
*A note on video files: Dail up may not work well with these video files. DSL is recommended. So far we have been able to put the video files in without a glitch! The files are meant as extra help if you are able to download them. They are not needed to complete the block and are not part of your purchase.
Each block will have embellishments of some sort, such as embroidery, bead work etc. The color choice is completely up to you! That is what makes your quilt unique.
Our price for this is very affordable! This is a $5.00 a month membership! The price of one quilting class could be as much as $80. With our membership you are getting a monthly classes for a year, at a wonderful price of $5.00 a month!
We enjoy sewing fellowship which is why we have priced this incredibly low. We pray you are blessed by our efforts!
We will showcase the most creative looks in the 2009 holiday issue of Seasons at Home! So what are you waiting for? Sign up, get ready for some quilting fellowship and let's have fun!
* Correction from the summer issue: This is a recurring subscription, not a monthly purchase. Your card will be charged $5.00 on the 1st of every month. You will be able to download the month's block, and video files if included, in your membership account until the 30th of the month. We suggest you get your download immediately and save to your computer once you purchase.
